BAC Water

Bacteriostatic water (commonly called “bac water”) is a sterile, non-pyrogenic water solution that contains 0.9% benzyl alcohol, which acts as a preservative to inhibit bacterial growth. It’s specifically designed for diluting or reconstituting medications, especially lyophilized (freeze-dried) peptides, before injection. The presence of benzyl alcohol allows the solution to remain sterile for multiple uses over time, typically up to 28 days after first puncture, unlike sterile water which must be discarded after a single use. Bac water is commonly used in research and clinical settings to prepare peptides like growth hormone fragments, GHRH analogs, or other injectable compounds, making it essential for safe, sterile, and repeated administration of these substances when following proper storage and handling protocols.
